When you hear the word 'idols', what comes to mind? We tend to think of idols as golden statues or ancient deities from long ago stories in the Old Testament. However, the truth is that idolatry is as prevalent today as it was back then. Today's idols may not be made of gold or stone, but they are just as real and destructive to our spiritual lives. Why? Because it subtly shifts the believer's devotion away from God and toward worldly distractions that masquerade as ultimate sources of meaning, security, or identity.

With that in mind, Women’s Ministry will be hosting a 1-day event on Sept 13th here at CCF from 8:30am to 3:00pm, titled “The Christ Centered Life: His Way, Your Joy”. The speaker will be our very own Angie Butler, who will share her personal journey regarding some of the false idols in her life. But more importantly, she will encourage us to identify and remove the idols in our lives, along with the grace to keep pursuing God above all else. After all, no idol, no matter how captivating it appears, can compare to the lasting joy of being known and loved by the One who gave His Son for us! 

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Register below by September 8th. An event fee of $15 is included to cover cost of meals. Sorry no childcare will be provided.
